 TYPES OF TENSES


INTRODUCTION:

As we have already discussed in our previous video that Tenses and Time is primarily segmented into three portions that are:

1. Past Tense.
2. Present Tense.
3. Future Tense.

From a broad perspective, this lesson will continue to examine each tense in detail with instances and a new technique to learn tenses using instances and examples.
A tense is a verb form that communicates time.Now, Let's discuss Each of them in detail.

1. PAST TENSE: 

Definition:

The past tense refers to event that have happened in the past. The basic way to form the past tense in English is to take the present tense of the word and add the suffix -ed.

For example:

To turn the verb "walk" into the past tense, add -ed to form "walked."

2. PRESENT TENSE:

Definition:

The present tense is a grammatical tense whose principal function is to locate a situation or event in the present time. The present tense is used for actions which are happening now.

For Example:

1.Bill writes the letters. 
2.Peter is coming to our place. 

3. FUTURE TENSE:

Definition:

In grammar, a future tense is a verb form that generally marks the event described by the verb as not having happened yet, but expected to happen in the future.

For Example:

1. I will give a speech in the program.
2. Tom will have reached the place by now.
