INTRODUCTION:
Continuing our topic "PARTS OF SPEECH" Let's talk about Interjection today. Here's a quick Introduction to what actually Interjection is! A word, phrase, or sound used to express an emotion such as surprise, excitement, happiness, or anger is known as an interjection. It is also referred to as an ejaculation or an exclamation. Or to put it another way, an interjection is a brief utterance that typically emotes and can stand alone.
SIGNIFICANCE:
Interjections are distinctive and have a few intriguing characteristics:
⍟ Interjections provide no grammatical use while creating sentences.
⍟ Usually, they cannot be altered or inflected.
⍟ They are not required to relate to the other clauses in the sentence.
⍟ They are quite sensitive to the context.
DEFINITION:
An interjection is a part of speech in the English language. The interjection is a word that expresses a strong emotion. It expresses an emotion of joy, sorrow, excitement, wonder surprise, pain, sadness, happiness, and so on.
EXAMPLES:
1.WELL
( Well, that is new. )
2. OUCH!
( Ouch! That hurt me more than i thought it would. )
3. YIPPEE!
( Yippee! We got the tickets to the movie premiere night. )
4. UH!
( Uh! I don't want to do it this way. )
5. WOW!
( Wow! You did a really great job with that piece of furniture. )
6. OH NO!
( Oh no! That should have really upset you. )
7. ALAS!
( Alas! I have not cleared the internal assessment. )
8. BRAVO!
( Bravo! that was a really brave thing to do. )
9. YAY!
( Yay! I have finished my homework. )
10. EW!
( Ew! It's so dirty. )
